Ali Toutounchi was Managing Director of Index Funds at Legal and General Investment Management for two decades. Responsibilities: 

  • Member of the Board of Directors, Corporate Governance Committee, Executive Committee, and Risk/Compliance Committee.

  • Led the global index funds business with c.$US440bn of AUM and annual revenue of over $US430m, serving institutional & retail investors and pension funds

  • Extended investment capabilities to include smart-beta, currency hedging, transition management, and asset allocation.

  • Established business units in the USA and Asia to extend client and product reach. Won numerous industry awards for excellence and innovation.

  • Member of the FTSE Russell Policy Group

Ali holds a Bachelor in Economics from UCL and a PhD. in Actuarial Mathematics from Hariot-Watt University.
