Lucas Pedace was a manager at the FCA for 5 years (2018-2023). He led a teams of 14 supervisors carrying out in-depth reviews of the six largest UK’s asset managers (e.g. BlackRock, LGIM and Schroders) compliance with FCA requirements on key risk areas, including (not limited to):
ICARAs (Internal Capital Adequacy Risk Assessment)
Operational and Cyber Resilience
ESG disclosures reviews
Board Effectiveness Reviews
Issuing Dear CEO letters and delivering messages at board level.
At the Bank of England (2015-2018) Lucas led the supervision of the implementation of the ring fencing legislation (the division of the investment Bank and the retail Bank) for Royal Bank of Scotland Group, mitigating major operational risks and strengthening RBSG capital and liquidity buffers.
He worked at HM Treasury for seven years, where he was a senior adviser to Alistair Darling, the Chancellor of the Exchequer during the 2008/9 financial crisis.
At PwC Lucas strengthened the ICARAs (including: operational risk models, key risk indicators, capital and liquidity risks, stress testing, reverse stress testing and wind-down plans) of eight asset managers.
Lucas holds a Masters in Economics from Cambridge University.
